Hoffman Estates seems to have a number of these late model 8 port Allertors. Jeb was able to obtain one of these from this town when it was replaced with an ASC Tempest Series siren. Now what I mean by late model is the long intake horn. From what I've heard is that all they are is just a Penetrator with an Allertor shroud.

You're right, all they are is a penetrator with a allertor shroud. The only difference where the I.D tag is located at. On a penetrator, it is on the back of the stator, right above the motor, and on a Allertor it is on the motor cowling.

I remember the single-tone Allertor being referred to as the "jumbo Allertor" a long time ago under the assumption that it was in fact bigger than the common two-tone variant. Being single-one I'd imagine its comparative carrying power would certainly be befitting of the "jumbo" designation. 8)

I'm just wondering at what point was it converted from a Penetrator to an Allertor...and why. Could've been done from the factory (possibly after the Allertor was discontinued?). I know the village documentation lists both of the single toned ones as "Allertor 125's" so I have to believe that they ordered them as such.
