About the Greenville Tx Hurricanes

I'm looking to make my first big siren purchase sometime hopefully before the end of the year. I know that Greenville has two inactive hurricanes, and i'm wondering if the EMA in Greenville would sell one of these to me if i were to pony up the cash. If anyone has any advice on whether or not they will, or how to approach them and ask, please do tell!

If they are still on the poles then you will have to fork over some money. My suggestion is to call once wait a week or 2 then follow up. Good luck man!

They are, the one i'm looking at is next to a car dealership and has the pipe going from the blower to the pole missing, so i'm almost certain that the blower is probably seized up from exposure to the elements.

Everytime I have talked to Greenville EM about the one by the dealership, they insist that it is a PA system for the dealership and not a siren (much to my amusement). If they do decide sell it to you, you will likely have to arrange for removal.

Best of luck to you man. Personally, I would try emailing them first and then waiting a week or so then calling.

Weird. How would i know it's for sale? Do i call e'm or is it gonna be the same story? And, sorry for flooding the place with questions, but how much would removal cost(best estimate)?

You just have to ask if they would be willing to let you have it. And according to what Trevor said they are those "were gonna make up something so that you go away" type people. It's gonna be about 1-3 grand to get it down. Especially if it is near a dealership. ("How do you know that coastal?" Because I was trying to get the Longview wa thunderbolts once for the siren but then I got my siren so the second time for the blower...)

I don't believe there is even a blower in that blower box. I know there aren't any bolts in the holes where the blower mounts. The motor bolts are still in the slots so I guess the motor is still there for what that's worth. The photos I took last time I was by there plainly show no bolts in the blower holes. I seriously doubt if a blower was reinstalled since I was last there in 2008. Now a blower might have been installed to make the PA system louder though.... Looking at those pics again it's pretty obvious that there is no blower in the blower box. That's the one by the dealer. I don't know where the other Hurricane is in Greenville. I never found it.
