Monthly test of Bloominton's sirens. They have two systems, one controlled by the county and the other controlled by Indiana University. This Whelen is one of six owned and operated by IU. They have em' scattered around campus including one mounted on a roof somewhere in downtown Bloomington. I have yet to find it. This one is at IN45 and N. Milo B. Sampson Lane. Like the rest of the county, they test in alert, then they run a short attack or fast wail signal. On IU's system, they also do a pre-recorded post-test voice announcement. I would have captured it, but they made the announcement maybe ten minutes after the test when a cacophony of Whelens started talking as I was getting food. Just my luck, I guess.
Enjoy!

The DTMF signal I hear is that your monitoring rig or is that coming from the siren itself? Just Curious, normally the only time you would hear that from the siren is when the PA is engaged and disengaged.

I was using my scanner, it's not from the siren.
