Chaffee Elementary School RSH-10 "Thunderbeam" Siren Growl Test 6-3-15

Got a recording of Madison County, AL's test today. Recorded one of the Thunderbeams this time around.

It seems that Madison County has gone back to doing growl tests again. No idea why, but I'm guessing that someone complained about the short alert tests.

The siren you hear in the background is the water-tower mounted 2001-AC on Esslinger Road.

Sorry about the short test. The "growl" is actually our correct procedure for the test. However, as this video shows, it doesn't exercise the siren much. We try to periodically do a longer test by "Tornado Warning" for about 20 seconds then "Stop". That lets them rotate under full power a couple of times. Perhaps with the upgrades we are doing late this summer we can just make the "growl" sequence a little longer.

It's alright. I'm happy it worked at all.
BTW, will next month have a longer test?
