Excellent videos. The second one with the ambience is really cool.

Love how they tried to quiet it by removing the horns. I still had to go scrambling for the volume down button on that first video.

Awesome footage and thanks for sharing!

Speaking of removed horns, I almost wonder if they have blanking plates over some of the ports on the chopper like that T-121 that was posted here some time ago. In areas where the other three horns would go on the upper 15 port chopper I can't see any of the ports or exposed metal; it looks like they have them covered with a piece of metal like what is being used to cover the motor. Wonder if they have it set up to throw sound in one general direction.

I am sure their neighbors in that direction don't appreciate one of the loudest production series sirens sounding for what most probably believe is not any kind of emergency. I don't think there is anything wrong with this, but I am going to safely say that a 40V2T is slightly louder than most church bells....

What encouraged them to get the loudest siren in the line up is beyond me.

True, some areas use STH-10s for the same purpose, I wonder why they didn't buy Model 2s.

Wow, I was just in Brooklyn two weeks ago. I remember the discussion on this siren; people were saying it was a 40V1T, but it looks like they were wrong. Love the videos. I bet you can hear that thing throughout most of the city, haha.

This is a great siren, but I think that a smaller Whelen 2900 series with a recording of a shofar or something could have just as easily served this purpose. My guess is that whoever purchased this siren had no idea how loud it was going to be.

Sorry for bumping, but I know you wanted me to see this. It's nice to have some closure knowing what siren this is now.

Yeah, you're probably right that they had no idea how ungodly loud the 40v2t was, hence why they blocked off some of the ports.
