Maybe it's the Greek financial crisis, it seems this NEVA55 decided to dive from the roof of this abandoned school. The school is located very close to where I live and the siren was disconnected for many years. I have always thought about getting it, but the lack of space (I already have many sirens) and the difficulties of removing it made me to always postpone it. As you can see the siren is heavily damaged, the stator is broken into pieces, the motor shaft is cut etc. I'm thinking of trying to get it and fix it...

Thanks. It won't be easy at all. After another visit, I found out that the motor shaft is bent, not broken. Which makes things worse, since there is no easy way to remove the rotor. Of course every bolt is heavily corroded, I don't know if I can release them. The siren weighs about 60kg. (132 lbs) For now flooded with WD-40 and waiting...

It's the rotor blades that are slanted.

I wonder if that design actually improves anything. Unless they just thought an E-57 would look good with that rotor.

I believe very few people are really missing the Drachma.( I don't know what sirens think though ) Back to topic, I had a very hard time trying to unbolt the roof and the motor foot with no luck. The siren was exposed to weather elements for 40 years. I'm out of ideas on how to disassemble and carry the parts. If you have any ideas or experience with similar projects please share.

I've been told by the manufacturer that this design achieves a deeper tone. While the rotor runs, the ports are never completely shut. Maybe a sound (or acoustic) engineer could explain it.
