Hello everyone, I will be going to Louisville with Kentuckysirens today tor record a siren. I know that Metrosafe activates the sirens. yet they have two frequencies. Here is a screenshot: https://gyazo.com/3df8f6f3141d13d363df35b78232d8ca I was wondering if anyone would know if one of these types is used to activate sirens. I am unsure of what "Simplex" means or any of that stuff. Otherwise I am just taking a shot in the dark. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -4j

If I had to take a guess, it's likely going to be the VHF frequency (155.2650 MHz). No guarantees of course, but it's a lot more likely for the system to be on a VHF setup versus 800 MHz.

Simplex means it does not go through a repeater.

Just to give yall a heads up we dont use siratrol radio's anymore. I believe i was told at one point the encoding is in FSK format and that the sirens are activated with FC radios. i dont remember the exact frequency that i was given when i did some asking around a couple years ago, but one of my contacts with the city did happen to be nice enough to give it to me when i had asked. ill try to see if i can get ahold of him and see if he can help out.

Hello Christian...the siren activation frequency is 155.265, I know this because I was the one that put it on RR. FSK is used to activate. There is no repeater used, there's just an antenna on top of a big hill or tower or something along those lines....you're welcome :p
