What to do with storm siren

Hello,

I work for a county government organization in western Iowa and we received the old county outdoor warning siren when they got a new one. It was originally mounted on the court house. Unfortunately, we don't have the correct 3 phase wiring to let us hook it up so we are looking to get rid of it. I have not found anyone or entity that wants it. I am looking for general info on the siren as well as ideas on if it is worth parting it out. I would like to see it put to use if possible, but most places are getting new ones these days so I don't know if there is even a demand for this type anymore. Any info would be appreciated.

The only thing that's three phase on that siren is the blower motor and possibly the little 1/3 horsepower rotator motor. Both are easily replaced with generic single phase motors. For less than $1000 you can have that siren operational and ready to be installed.

I rebuild a lot of Thunderbolt sirens like the one you have. If you need any help send me a message. I know of SEVERAL county organizations down here in Georgia that would like to have that siren if you plan on getting rid of it.

Demand is still pretty good for those sirens, just most of your new siren dealers have no interest in helping someone put it back up or don't have a clue how to work on it.
