LK 145 siren question

Hello, I plan on buying a Lion King Signal 145 siren, I know it's a cheap Chinese siren but I'm only 14 and I don't have enough for a model 2, etc. I am wondering if you can supercharge a LK 145 siren (cheap Chinese version of a carter siren). I am also wondering if I can wire this siren to an AR timer. Any info helps

Supercharge? Perhaps. You'll have to have a strong air compressor to do so. I recommend getting the small siren from the same company from ebay, then cover up some of the holes on the chopper and stator. If you cover half of them with thin tape, it will sound 8 port, instead of a 2001. You can also super charge it with a vacuum.

Covering up holes on the stator will not lower the pitch. As for patching up the chopper, probably not a good idea to tinker with a fast-moving wheel like that. As for supercharging a siren, yes, you do want something really small that won't take up more air naturally than your compressor can provide it.

I have tried supercharging mine with a leaf blower before, it doesn't work very well. It slows down the chopper so much that it puts a lot of strain on the motor and would probably end up damaging it in the long run.

I saw you have a LK 145, what do you think of it, what kind of activation methods do you have, and do you need a motor starter? Do you have a relay or AR timer? Thanks

I've been pretty happy with mine, it's a neat little setup. I use a 10 amp relay (Pretty undersized, I'd recommend a 15 or 20 amp relay) and a old Federal Siratrol from Topeka, KS to control it. There is a Sensaphone 400 SCADA system that's hooked into the AR and that monitors the status of the siren and sets it off remotely. I don't use my LK any longer though, I've got my 2T which is much louder.

Thanks for all the info, it is very useful, if you could could you let me know how you wire everything? AR timer/ sensaphone 400/ relay. Also how did you make the housing/enclosure for the 145? It looks great. Thanks
