Got my first siren!

Sun Mar 27, 2016 7:13 pm

Well, I finally did it :D. I got a Federal Electric Model 66 from my mom's friend who had it in storage and gave it to me for free. It's 8 ports, runs off of 6 volts DC, so I can hook it up to a lantern battery or car battery and it runs beautifully. I have some pictures right now, and I will definitely post a video sometime soon.

Thanks! I'm not sure exactly what year it's from, but I'm guessing it's from the 40s or 50s. It runs great, and has a very long wind-down! Again, I'm posting a video soon.

I would say mid 40's to early 50's, since Federal became Federal Enterprises in the mid 50's. Can't wait to hear it!

That is one good looking siren with very little wear! A word of caution, I would not run this on car batteries, since this is a 6 volt siren and a car battery is 12 volts. I hope you have fun with your new siren :)

Yeah, I know. I'll run this on a lantern battery or 9V smoke detector battery. :)
