AF Timer Help

Greetings,
I recently purchased a VES-145 siren off of Ebay. And I was wondering how do I install it to my AF timer? I have the necessary jumps from 9&3 1&2 11&12 and 15 to 16, after that I followed the diagram in the AF Timer so I figured 2&3 since 3 is common, However that didn't work so I started to search around and a few posts say it needs a motor starter? would this be true for the VES-145? I am just very unsure on how I am supposed to wire the VES-145 to the AF timer.
Thanks in advance.

Can I have a picture of the inside of the timer? I know it isn't the same, but I'm going to assume it is the same concept as my AR timer.

Follow this diagram:

A ten amp or above single pole contactor with a 120v coil voltage will work fine for this. DO NOT use the AR timer to directly switch the siren.
