I was digging through some stuff last night and discovered that Branson is planning to replace/upgrade their older Whelen/Federal system over the next four years. For those of you that don't know, Branson has a mix of WPS-2750's, WPS-2805's, WPS-2803's, a WPS 2907, Three Modulator 5020's, and three SD-10's. Recently one of their Modulator 5020's and WPS-2750's got hit by lightning and destroyed, and the two of them were just recently replaced. They are still sticking with Whelen for the upgrades, and I believe the plan is to replace several of the old 2750's and 2805's with 2909's. Here's some screenshots from their budget requests for the next four years:

Highlighted in red on the far left is where they mention the sirens.

The main replacements seem to be centered around the older Whelens, as they are slowly but surely starting to show their age. Several along the Branson strip have had failures recently, and several had major issues during a recent tornado warning in March.

Here's a few videos of sirens from their system:

Looks like it's time to get some videos of them while they are still in service. Not too many 2700 series sirens left out there with original analog controllers. I wonder what they will do with the old sirens once they are gone. The Whelens could potentially be good units to keep around for parts or gap fillers if they upgrade the panels to newer 2030 boards.

I very much agree. I really do hope they record them before they are gone!

I'm planning on only recording the SD-10's, there are bigger fish to catch around here. Maybe i'll get to them in the next year or two.

Your right, but there are WAY more SD-10's out there then 27XX's.

Where are the 2803s located? I though that all of their older Whelens were just 5 cell units.

There is a 2803 or 2903 in the high school parking lot.
