Nearly all Japanese motor sirens have dampers.

Reminds me of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hUD2R4UXvs Doing attack, and dampener closing each time on wind-down.
I own: One complete SiraTone, another SiraTone control module, a 1600W MC, 2 old ATI controllers, 2 round ATI horns with drivers, a ATI-DSA 4 thing, a Federal Signal FC, AR timer and Siratrol, and a small CD&F.

Not exactly on topic, but has anyone else gotten a better recording of that 5?

Japan has a thing for sirens. Shame their sirens never appeared more than once outside Japan (I'm counting the Toshiba siren that was spotted somewhere a while ago in the USA on the siren archive).

I still find their sirens a lot more un-nerving than most other sirens, that's for sure.

Question for the experts, what did the coding mechanisms on the Fedelcode's look like and how did they work?

Most Japanese sirens have six ports, so depending on what part of Japan they are located, they sound a low D note on 50 Hz. and a low F on 60 Hz.
