Modulator Test Video

It's about that time we should have a Modulator video on the Internet...

This Modulator is up and running! Originally it didn't sound on June 1st 2007. I was disappointed that day, but I reported it to Civil Defense like any observant citizen (or siren freak :?), and it sounded successfully today. I let the camera run after it quit testing so I could get the ambiance of the high-pitched Thunderbolt 1000T I recorded last time.

Note: Hawaii does not do si-tests (silent tests) for ANY siren, which is very good news in my book. :D

Sounds awesome...i love the way the Thunderbolt fires up before it does. How come this one only sounds for 30seconds while the Tbolt sounds for 3mins? Also how come those other videos had voice and this one doesn't.

How come this one only sounds for 30seconds while the Tbolt sounds for 3mins? - That Thunderbolt is something else. Last test day, it only sounded for 45 seconds, and then this time it sounded for 3 minutes. I don't quite know the answer for that one.

Also how come those other videos had voice and this one doesn't.-Civil Defense traditionally does a 45 second Alert signal on all sirens. C.D. opts not to use voice, but will use it for new siren tests or for real emergencies to facilitate instant mass public notification. I'm thinking there just aren't enough Modulators/DSA's yet to carry out the full public voice notification they would like it's siren system to be able to do. People here generally know to tune to the radio/TV when the sirens sound on any other day besides test day.

Yup, this Modulator is fairly new, since it was only about two months ago that an EOWS 612 used to occupy this spot. It sounds VERY good for an electronic siren in my opinion.

Wow it is a dual tone! I guess this is FedSigs response to the deep boomy tone of the Whelens.

The tone is available on all Selectone systems.
