From what I can make out of the tag:
240: The voltage the siren operates on
1: Number of phases (in this instance it's a single phase model)
60: Frequency (cycles)

Here is the rest:
39818: Serial Number
Other 5: H.P.
54: Amps

If you plan on restoring the siren, you can buy a new tag on Ebay and punch the information in.

Don't mean to high jack but I'm curious now, 5hp rated and 54 amps at 240? Every single phase 5hp Motor I've ever seen has been around 25 amps, 30 at most. I've also never really seen manufacturers under rate HP. 54 is more like 10 hp. Anyone know know what the deal is? Just curious, sorry for the intrusion.

I'm a bit baffled by that amp rating also. There is a siren like this on Ebay right now, and that one says 56 amps. I've read stories that in the old days, power companies wouldn't allow single-phase motors over X horsepower to be connected to their systems. Supposedly, some siren manufacturers simply labelled their units as one or two horsepower sizes down from what they actually were, to get around this. I can't guarantee that those stories are true, however.
I've recently purchased what I think is a model 5/7 with no housing or identification whatsoever. It is pictured in my first posting on here. It is single-phase capacitor-start, and so far I've only growled it on 120 volts. I'll definitely have to check the amp draw when I let 'er rip full bore! Motor lead wires are #6, so I think it's a bit more than 5 hp.

The Model 5/7 sirens had 7.5HP motors, but as Cast Iron said, some of them were supposedly labelled as 5hp to get around rural electrical regulations. The three phase model 5/7's are actually closer to 10hp as far as their amperage rating goes, but either way, it's rated as a 7.5HP motor.
