The Siren Board

Hi i was wondering if anyone has any articles on the history of outdoor warning sirens, i would really appreciate it if you know of any you could send me the link or point me in the right direction. Thanks

There's a perfectly good site right in front of you, you just have to search!!! I wrote a siren essay too, a few years back and got a good deal of info from here, civildefensemuseum and some other sites I can't remember. That essay helped me better than my final exam lol (which I still did pretty good on).

Here is an article on how weather warnings have evolved from early times that mentions sirens. I actually just used this for a paper and presentation in my English 150 class. The problem may be that the link attached may not work for anyone else, as I got it through my University's database...in that case, I'll also leave the title for those that want to find a copy for themselves on Google Scholar (or to those who have the database)

I scanned this article from the Winter 2003 issue of Invention & Technology magazine. It has been sitting on my old, long-retired hard drive since about that time.
