I just bought a Thunderbolt 1000 220v 3 phase from a crane company that removed it from St Johnsbury VT 5 years ago. I'll have to get a phase converter someday. They said it was from the St Johnsbury fire dept but I can't find any photos of it. I found it in the list of CD funds here.

Does any one have any photos of it while it was up or know where the exact location was?

That's a really nice bolt! That's also a nice Subaru Outback in one of the photos lol. Is this a 1000T? Also, do you have any plans of ever using it as a storm siren?

Now that is killer man! Excellent save. I tried madly to look for it ages ago but never did find it.

Thanks!! It's a 1000. I'm just going to restore it and it'll be part of my collection. I have over 70 sirens at the moment! Big and small. Someday I should take photos of all of them and share on here.
The Subaru was sandwiched in between two trucks last year during a snow storm. It was a great car! We bought another one for my wife to replace it.

they really are good cars. My 2000 Forester gave out 3 years ago and my 2006 Forester is quite nice as well.

Subaru's older boxer engines had bad issues with the head gasket failing. the newer ones (2006 on i belive) dont.

This is still getting a bit off-topic, but they still used them up until @2007. If my 2006 wasn't a turbo, I would have to go through the financial woes of getting my third head gasket replaced (my 2000's blew TWICE, once at 100,000 miles and once at 104,000)

Can anyone tell me how much HP the chopper motor, the rotator motor and the blower motor have? I need to know to buy a phase converter. I read 1/3hp for the rotator - just want to double check though.

I do not know what the HP is but I'm pretty sure you either need 240v or 120v for the chopper motor correct me if im wrong.
