Strongsville, Ohio "Tornado Siren"

Today I finally made my way up to Strongsville Ohio to see their custom Atlas speaker tornado sirens. What I got was interesting to say the least! When the siren activated I was surprised to hear the warning tone of a Radio Shack 12-262! I assume that it takes advantage of S.A.M.E. technology and only receives alerts related to tornados and weekly tests as the city claims that the sirens are only activated for those two events. Hope you find this as interesting as I did!

So that's what they sound like! Must be that weather radio hooked up to a 40W amp or something. Those PA drivers Atlas sells aren't that powerful.

They have eight. 2 at Foltz Park, and one at every other park.
