Age/Identification for Carters Taco Works - 3 Phase - single vertical siren

Hello to all,
I'm only new to this board and would appreciate some assistance in tracking the manufacture date of a vertical 1.5HP 3 Phase siren siting on a Brooks Motor.
From my googling frenzy it appears the Carter factory that was in Burnley has been demolished, so I'm not too sure if any company records are still available that I could access to help me ID this beast.

I have tested the electric motor with a meter and in the absence of 3 Phase power, it appears electrically sound. I am keen to restore this unit and repaint with original colors.

I don't have any photo's to post yet but that would be an easy exercise. Along with more detail if any of you are interested.

It's funny that despite best efforts I cannot find a picture of this unit on the internet.

Anyway, enough of my verbal D.

I look forward to maybe getting some assistance with my dilemma.

Cheers,
Pete.

Hello,

Afew pictures of the unit itself and it's ID plates could help, I'm not too knowledgeable about UK Carter sirens but maybe if there's a date code on one of the ID plates..

Regards,
Alexis

Hello Darley, thanks for your reply. Being new on this BB I'm still learning to navigate it. I think uploading pic's will be okay, but not sure yet how many the BB allows in one hit.

Anyway, I will be appreciative of any info you or others can supply or even how I can track manufacturers production date.

When taking the pic's I noticed a name plate on the motor terminal block. Covered in paint and as yet I haven't got to discovering what lies beneath. Suspect only motor info.

Cheers for your interest in my siren.

Best regards,
Pete.

This newby may be having trouble posting photo's. :?: :?: :?:

Tried to reply to member earlier today, but if I am reading this BB for my posts/responses, the photo's I tried to send appears to be only 1 out of 5 posted. Oh well!

Decided to try again for info members may be able to provide on my Carter siren.

He goes another attempt to put up pic's of the beast.

Pete.

Carter sirens usually have a date printed on the underside and a voltage reading etc. on a tag to show what is needed. When you get it running, make sure it's turning anticlockwise as it's a directional rotor.
Always good to see another British person on here!

Gday, nice Carter siren! It looks like it is a 10 port singletone. I'm guessing it is from the 1960s or 1970s. I myself got the baby models of sirens similar to your big siren, I have Minimites. What you may need to do is when putting more photos up is go to post preview I think it is to see if all the photos have uploaded properly or not. Then if you re-edit your posts to try & get all the photos to work.
