I would advise replacing the motors, or getting a VFD to run the whole unit off a generator on the RCM 3 without the hassle of replacing the motors.
Hmm... now there’s an idea. Oh and just for an advisory: the RCM3 is the solenoid runner on the 1003... we have RCM1s :) but I know of a few rural/remote fire stations that may be willing to do that...
Variable Frequency Drive not Voulenteer Fire Department.....
? Not making a connection. (Get it?) explain?

I’ve used both phase converters and VFD’s. The VFD in my opinion is the way to go, alows long ramp time so no start surge, efficient, small, and simple to start/run once set up. That said, if the siren is the only forseable three phase equipment you will own replacing with a single phase motor is the way I’d go.

Thanks so far for the help you all! So few things: 1, I will not be using the rotator. 2, the reason I wanted to go through my RCM1 was because I heard it was better for it to run it that way. 3, I’m gonna have to take whatever blower I can get be it single or 3ph. I obviously don’t get a lot about electricity so I’d need to make sure that any VFD I go to has the right specs for me to run such a thing. Even if I separately plug the chopper and blower directly in.

Running the chopper isn't a problem. The chopper motors are all single phase anyways. You could plug it into the wall and it will run off 115V supplied from the plug if you wanted to. Using a phase converter with a 3 phase blower, you might as well forget about it. You are better off replacing the motor with a single phase one. A converter that can support it would cost about as much as a motor itself, if not more.

And did we know for sure how much HP a single phase motor for a 5M needed? I can get my hands on a single phase motor if I end up with a 3ph blower I just need to know if it’s 10 HP for sure or if single is the 7.5.

you could plug it in, but aside from the chopper, which might run slower than usual, nothing else would work right i dont think
