Gonna bump this thread with some information I just found out.

Supposedly, there were 5 WS-2500s installed as a part of the Cooper Nuclear Station EPZ siren network, per this NRC document https://www.nrc.gov/docs/ML0104/ML010440221.pdf

Odds are they are long gone now, seeing as the thunderbolts and ACA sirens that were also in that system were replaced by Whelen Omnis sometime in the mid-2000s

We could avoid ruling out the possibility of any of these 2500s being left somewhere, has other ex-cooper sirens have appeared such as Indian Point Missouri's siren.

The sirens in that document are WPS-2020's. I remember someone in the Facebook group mentioning them at one point. At least 3 of them are still up and active with the current Whelen system. I have a hunch the reason those have been referred to as 2500's in the past is because that's what replaced the true 2500 in the lineup before ultimately being replaced with the WPS-2750.

Oh, well that’s a huge letdown. It would be cool to see a new (to us) quirky Whelen predecessor siren.

No I think you got that mixed up. It was the 2000 first, then the 2500, then the 2700. The 2000 sold alongside the 2500 and 2700.

The theory I had for that typo is that they misunderstood that the arrays are 5 sets of 2000 arrays, rather than 2500s.

A discord server I am in found that out pretty quickly. We found 6 Whelen 2020s at Indian Cave State Park, which matched the amount of 2500s on that document.

There is supposedly a WS-2500 still left in the Cooper NPP system nearby the Dar Pro Solutions/Fairfax building on Z highway. Someone should picture it. Also another unconfirmed one at the northern end of Indian Cave State park out in the forest, something like that would definitely be worth the hike!

Do you have StreetView links to the Dar Pro siren? And if somebody does in fact live in the state park, would anyone be willing to check it out?

All the sirens in Indian Cave State part are WS-2020s. As for the one at Dar Pro Solutions, I have a strong feeling its just a power pole, but it might be worth somebody day-tripping to go see it.

I was looking along the Z highway since the one old street view outside Dar Pro didn’t reveal anything but power poles and came across this weird looking shadow next to a power pole and I’m not sure what it could be, possibly the siren in question?
