After sudden info was received that Apple River's 1212 sounds daily at noon and 6pm, Mitchell decided he had to hear such an event, and I met him in the tiny town of Apple River, to hear this very gurgly sounding SiraTone. The controls are in near pristine condition inside a wooden shed at the bottom of the pole. Can't say the same for the drivers up top.

The batteries were dated 2017 so they aren't terribly old yet, unless the chargers are shot.

Could very well be. It wouldn't be the first time either.
