So I just supposedly received a (Federal Electric Model A) from Ebay, but when it arrived I looked at the tag only to find it reading (Edwards Incorporated Model 315) If anyone can give me a history talk about this thing and where it came from that would be most appreciated.
P.S I'm Having some trouble getting the screws off the siren because they rusted a long time ago and then just painted over so that's just A another thing I need help with.

Edwards Incorperated is a company that currently manufactures and sells fire alarm equipment, but a while back, they rebranded Federal Signal sirens, Sentry sirens, and even came out with a siren called the Audilert (basically four speakers mounted on a pole).

As I recall, Edwards still makes a Portable Siren/PA system, there's a video of it somewhere. I also seem to remember they still sell re-branded Sentry Sirens to this day, but don't quote me on that.

Maybe a little bit of paint thinner on and around the screws. Light tapping with a hammer or mallet. After the paint thinner dries then spray the screws liberally with PB Blaster and let soak for a while. All in a well ventilated area of course.

congrats on getting a siren!
sounds like you got a little unlucky on the condition. Some paint thinner and rust remover will work wonders on that. if the screws break, you should be able to find new ones at a hardware shop.

That’s correct. Other fire alarm companies such as Sperti-Faraday Inc. (or just as Faraday) also rebranded the Model A. There is an old rusted out Faraday Model A near me at an old Girl Scout camp that is now a city park. I am hoping to acquire the siren later this Spring, though it’s rusted out completely so I doubt it works, and if it does it would need a lot of work.
