I'd be interested in seeing the patterns for the 40hp, wouldn't mind playing around with trying to build a scale model of one with a bench grinder motor this winter (out of aluminum).

The ad regarding New York also says in the smaller print that the verticals went as low as 1/8hp? Think I read it right. 😊 ????

Okay, now I have gotta know if there's any documentation left on these. Those seem WAY too small to be effective outdoor warning sirens but you never know. I made an outdoor siren that was about 1/6 HP once and while it packed a decent punch up close it didn't carry very far.

He dealt with a lot of police sirens so maybe this was a misprint that was referring to his smaller sirens , I don't know.

I'd love to see them if you can get your hands on them as well.

Does anyone think that this may be a 2HP siren, or would this be something even smaller?

I don't know much about sirens but I would say probably a two horsepower because of the chopper diameter as opposed to the pole diameter. Just a thought. Lol.

That 2HP HOR doesn't sound very loud at all.

Videos can be deceiving. Close up shot is good but middle of video shows real distance from recording medium. Small sirens were meant to cover areas the big ones missed due to terrain or such, usually somewhere between big ones in the cities for example. This one I figure is sure hanging in there. Needs to be rescued and can be a buddy to my others. 😊
