Sterling controllers ?

Hello again,

I have a meeting with the city manager tomorrow to discuss the removal of the M10 now that I have the funds to do so and to discuss testing the siren to see how much restoration it needs.

Then I realized I don't know what controller it has or if that even works.

I know early sterlings had a mechanical controller that was 4ft long, and I saw the pull to sound lever one online, but the siren was part of the county system and even got the ASC compulert upgrade that happened in the 90's.

But if it didn't have a controller would something common like a federal AR drive it?

Yes, the federal signal AR timer would work fine connected to the M10's motor starter.

That's good to know. City manager said the siren was disconnected which in my past experience means it had the controller removed to prevent accidental activation.

I remember seeing a post where a federal AR was driving a 40HP Sirex, but I didn't know if sterlings were anything special.
