Auschwitz Siren

PLEASE NOTE: I'm putting history aside for a sec, I'm being professional about this. This post is just about the SIREN and its history, not the history of Auschwitz as a whole.

I was doing some history research about WW2 and noticed what looks to be an old German siren atop the German concentration camp Auschwitz. I can not find ANY history about it. If anyone can, it would be much appreciated. looks to me to be a LUZ siren. I can't imagine it not being a siren and am surprised there are no posts on the siren board about this possibly being a siren.

It looks to be VERY similar to the siren in this video:

I have seen that one too (on pictures of the entrance), I've always been wondering what it is.

To me, it is likely that it's either a 9-port unit, probably a close derivative from the Elektor E-57 (though the E57 has a different "hat") or one of those "VLT" (very low tone) "3-port" (note: I am not very sure if these have 3 ports, I'm only guessing from seeing one such unit in one of e57michel's videos) sirens that can sometimes be seen in Germany.

Either way, I don't really know much about this siren. I guess it would be likely that it was sounded off in the event of an escape, or maybe during an air raid.

Anyways, I will follow this topic. It has been four years that I have been wondering about this siren.

After further research on e57michel's channel, I noticed his profile pic looks a lot like the siren pictured on Auschwitz. Here is a photo and the only video I could find of the siren on his channel (test is at the end of the video). What makes me believe this is how the cone is pointed, unlike other German sirens.

The S3B and the Auschwitz sirens indeed look similar, though the e57michel stated in the description that their S3B is from the 50's, however, the Auschwitz siren might even be from the 40's or so.

I don't know from which years the S3B sirens were made, but that seem likely that the Auschwitz siren could also be another model that has a pointed cone top.

I'm pretty sure historic photos show the siren still being there in the 40s

There certainly was a siren there during the 1940s but it almost looks like it is a different model compared to the one featured above. This photo from 1944 appears to show that:

It was an Elektror L1/F2, later replaced by the mystery siren.

Here's a better shot of it. At first I thought it was a Siemens siren, but I agree, it looks more like an Elektror L1/F2.
