Colerain, OH Mystery Siren

That weird one-off mystery siren in Colerain, OH but one thing is VERY weird, it looks like just the photo in the video, not actual recorder footage, hmmmmmmmmm

This has been brought up before, but these sirens are apparently shop made or "home-made" sirens there is the big yellow one you see in the video and a low tone one on the building next to it. So these sirens have no model number or company like a "Federal Signal 2001" There are two videos of these sirens on youtube, the one you found is just a picture with the audio over it.

They definitely sound weird. I've never heard sirens that sounded like that.

Those are from 3 different places, there are many different places with the word Colerain in thier name.... so these are from three different areas.

So there is no doubt that one of those sirens is a "Q", what is the other one?

I took the last three pictures in this post. These were all from Colerain Township in Hamilton County, Ohio. The SD-10 has since been replaced with a T-128. Not sure if the other two are still there as I haven't been by those places in a while. There is at least two other sirens in the township, a 1000T and a Sterling Model M. The 1000T was atop Northgate Mall until recently (it was removed during a renovation project).

the sirens not a model q. its shop made. and the other video is not a picture, its just really slow. im building a siren right now but i sure hope it doesnt turn out as high pitched as that one.
anyone got any ideas to how many ports is on that thing?

The higher pitched siren sounds like it probably has 16 ports.
On your home made siren, I would suggest that if you want a loud, but lower pitched sound, go with a curved roter, with between four and eight ports. An eight port siren with a curved roter produces a lower pitch at 3450 RPM's, and it can be very loud, depending on the size of the roter, and the type of horn you use.
