So I found this rarity while looking for locations for a Mexico siren map. At first I almost skipped this thinking it was some sort of rooftop thing but then I saw a chopper and immediately took note, At first I did not know what it was but after asking around on an private Discord server, it turns out this is a champion. If its active or not is not known at this time.

That's not a champion. Champions are upside down and have a bigger rotor. That's likely a Federal Enterprises Model 5.

That doesn't really look like a champion IMO, but still a cool find nonetheless. Theres actually quite a lot of sirens in central and south america, since a lot of the fire departments there are volunteer.

1. FS didn't make 8 port Model 5's, only From Federal Electric to Fedelcode they made those
2. it has a champion motor
3. it has those Darley 3v8 legs

My guess is it was mounted vertically for some reason.

They use the same motor as the Model 5.
I didn't mean motor, I meant rotor.

My guess is that it's either a W.S. Darley 3V8 with a replaced motor (Which I highly doubt), a Federal Electric Model 3B, or it's something different altogether. That motor looks more like an older STH/L-10A motor than anything else.

The siren pictured below is a Darley Champion, which looks nothing alike the siren shown in the google maps link. I think it's safe to say it's unidentifiable, unless someone gets clearer photos. Hard to identify a modified, blurry siren.

I've looked at the insides of a Model 3B, and I can say with 90% certainty that this is a Federal Enterprises Model 3B, low tone. Seems that they modded it a bit.

Figured I'd mention it since its right near Tijuana. I have made several trips for work to Toyota's manufacturing facility in Baja California, which is just outside of TJ to the east. One of the evening shuttle runs from the plant back to the border took me past this M-10 in Tecate. Anyone know of any other Sterlings in Mexico?
