Advice for removing two sirens

Good afternoon everyone. It has come to light that I may be responsible for removing two sirens that I'll be getting. One ACA Allertor and one model 2. I'm asking for those who have done it, how and what was required? The model 2 is on a single pole about 45 feet high and the Allertor is double pole mounted and 30 feet high. I would just like to know what vehicle(s) tools will be needed. I'm not adding the location of them as not to flood the municipality. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like you'll need a bucket truck and a crane at a minimum. Maybe just a bucket truck if the boom is strong enough to support both you and the siren. I hope you have friends with this stuff because the equipment rental is probably going to be worth as much as buying a siren off EBay!

Though for an Allertor it might be worth it :)

I got lucky with my removal. I recovered my siren from the lawn in front of a former elementary school after a wind storm blew it off the roof two stories up :P

does the city want the whole poles down or just the sirens?
Step one in my experience is get quotes from several companies.
Step two have some "Extra Money" set aside for actual cost of the project
Step three bring your town transportation.

Contact the city again as ask if they want the whole poles removed too or just the sirens.
When I had the Garden City SD thunderbolt removed, I failed to do those steps and it cost me 800.00, 300.00 more then was quoted due to they had to travel back to town with me to drop it off.
So learn from my mistake and have fun. Be safe

I was assuming that they'd keep the poles, so that's a good point. Would a siren as heavy as an Allertor stay on the pole if it was tipped over, though? I'd be concerned about the fasteners or the pole mounting location itself giving out from years of weather and wear and the siren taking a 20 ft plunge.

When the local FD removed their old Thunderbolt and Sterling, they removed both sirens from the double-pole setup first, then took down the poles and set a new one for the Whelen.
