The Siren Board

Hello, I am making this post on what I believe is either a Fedelcode or an older Federal Electric Model 2 on top of the Skokie City hall. I have no Idea if this Model 2 is active or not. I live near it and never have heard it sound for testing. The Model 2 is painted a white color and is somewhat hard to see. The housing design is like a older Fedelcode Model 2 but it does not have the Fedelcode brand name on the housing which makes me think that it is an older Federal Electric model 2, but other than that, that is the only information that I know for now.

I live in Evanston, I'll swing by later with my camera and see if I can get a couple decent photos. I'll post them later.

Update: I drove around for a bit, the only part I was able to see was the top cone.

That building looks new enough I’m inclined to think its a vent. But boy I totally see what you’re seeing.

The village hall was built in 1927 so the chances of it actually being a model 2 are high in my opinion. Also I have a drone, so I could try to get some drone shots in the future.

Update: I was able to get some photos. These photos confirm that the siren is an older Federal Electric model 2.

Sorry to bump this but wow! I have lived in this area my whole life, and pass this regularly and have never noticed it. I have asked my contact in the city about restoring it for them.

Looks to be in good condition. They avoided painting the tag, honestly refreshing to see.
