Recently while I was looking around on victorysiren.com, I came across an interesting photo of a Chrysler Air Raid Siren in China (and no, it's not one of the many rip-offs Lion King made).
This is what I am referring to: According to the person who took a photograph in 2003, the siren was intact and active, there were four of them installed, and this specific siren was in Fujian Province, China. This one was one of the two that had been re-powered. If one of these two, both, or all four of these sirens are still up, that would mean they would be the last First Generation Chrysler Air Raid Sirens.
As soon as I read this, I was instantly shocked. I had always thought the Chryslers in China were just a myth, but I was wrong! I immediately searched the location on Google Maps, but then I realized I was in a pickle. It turns out the Fujian Province was quite large, and there would be a slight chance I would find a Chrysler in seconds. Second of all, the photo was taken in 2003, and it would make sense for the Chinese government to remove the siren and replace it with a much more modern and reliable warning device. Then I decided to search it on Google, but once again, I was left empty-handed. At the moment, I am trying to gather more information on the siren and attempting to locate it. If anyone here has more information on this siren, please reply! Help is greatly appreciated.
