Decided to head out this morning and film a couple of siren tests, as it was the first Wednesday of the month. Went down to this Thunderbolt in Hoover, AL, for Jefferson County's siren test, and, as you can see, it went quite well. The test was Jefferson County's typical short-alert test, but today they wound-up going for around 50 seconds rather than 30, which was nice to see. This siren, despite being part of Jefferson County's system, is actually located within Shelby County at Graystone Farms, by their swimming pool. I'm guessing that it's on the Jefferson County system due to being within Hoover. Either way though, I've recorded both of the remaining Thunderbolts in the Jefferson County system, so I'm quite glad I was finally able to do so.

On the way down, I'd thought about stopping for Cullman County's test at 9 AM, but given how far south this siren was, I just decided to skip that test today.

Jefferson County, AL tests on the first Wednesday of every month at 10 AM, weather permitting.
