Edited* I had made a post about this siren seeing it from the highway next to some lofts next to Downtown Kansas City. I did a google street maps thing and got this pic. Dont ya think this baby is rather close to the lofts? I mean its basically a street width away. Also what you cant see is there is more lofts sitting up on top of the ones that are lower/street level. Like i said theres some upper levels that ya cant see that are level with the siren...What do you think it sounds like in there when that 2001 comes to life?

Wow, that is close. Hope you get some pictures. Do you know what sirens KC had before the 2001s? I know they had a few Chrylsers back in the day.

On Victorysiren.com, it said this about KC.
They had three Chryslers
Kansas City, Missouri
The Kansas City Fire Department dispatch was the city's warning point. Kansas City sirens were tested monthly. These sirens were painted yellow at the time they were taken out of service.
? City Hall at 12th & Oak - Roof (30 floors)
? US Army Records Center at Independence Avenue & Hardesty - Roof top tower (about
10 floors) - In place as of APR-2003
? Central High School at Linwood Blvd & Cleveland - Roof (3 floors) - Building demolished
circa 1990.

No, they had a system of Thunderbolts,xT22s,stl-10s,sth-10, and maybe a Thunderbeam or two. Most of the city is loyal to Federal Signal. But, Lee's Summit has (or had) system RM-130s and allertors. The only Thunderbolt is in Blue Springs, and unless you know where it is, you probaly won' find it.

Everything else, 2001-130s.
THIS IS TO MY KNOWLEDGE!!!!!!

I imagine KCMO had Thunderbolts after the Chryslers. Where is the Thunderbolt in Blue Springs?!

The times I've been through Kansas City on the highway I've never seen a single siren.

Kansas CityMO Has tons of sirens. I got a complete list from the EM Director a while back, and i haven't had the time to map the 100+ sirens.

I forgot about the xt22 in Sugar Creek and a very well hidden t-bolt in Liberty. If you get off on Woods Chapel Rd. from I-70. Turn south and follow Woods Chapel 'til you get to some railroad tracks and on the right there are some trees and a Thunderbolt. I don't know if it's dual or single tone though. The xt22 is up on a hill along 291 by the concrete plant and the landfill. The other T-bolt is by a HUGE water tower, and it almost got nailed by a F2 tornado in May 2003.

I dont know of any dual tone tbolts in KC. Ive yet to hear one in person. I still need to get a picture of this 2001 next to these lofts. Its rediculously close. I mean the top of the siren sits level with the upper lofts. it's close enough you could throw a rock off off the balcony and hit the siren if ya threw it hard enough
