Lego Sirens : Would anyone be interested?

Thu Nov 24, 2022 8:27 pm

Hello,

I would like to have people's opinions on a potential idea I had:
Would anyone be interested in purchasing the BrickLink instructions for a few different types of Lego sirens that I designed?
They are not currently for sale, I would only like to know if this is something that people may be interested in. I will not upload images because I would prefer my design to be kept safe for now...

Anyway, what I can say is that so far I have designed a single-tier Whelen WPS-2901, a Castle Castings siren and an early Federal Signal 500AT. All three of these sirens are roughly minifigure scale (or as close as I could in Lego bricks).

Anyone think that this could be a good idea?

1: You'd have to send pictures to prove quality
2: Just send them, it probably isn't gonna be worth money to most people here anyway

I'm sure they're pretty neat though,

Reading about Lego sirens gives me flashbacks to NotVoyager and his nonsense... I'm honestly not sure anybody on this forum would pay for those, when people are making 3D printed stuff of good quality, Lego sirens seem a bit childish. That's not to say it's a bad thing, but I doubt people will spend money on them.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the information!
I will post a couple of images here in a bit, I just need to prepare the renders.
I had in my mind that most people would find them a bit childish, I was mostly thinking that I could get something out of the AFOL market. I know people who do sell similar items to my sirens, but as you say it would be a better thing to sell in person at an actual shop (this is what that person I mentioned does), as online it probably wouldn’t find the right market easily.
Sorry if this information is confusing. Thanks again for the opinions!

I would buy them if it is less than $3.00 USD
I know I can’t speak, but please refrain from bumping this topic in future. If anyone else wants to know a bit more about my designs, please PM me instead.

Anyway, I would ideally sell them for whatever price I could buy the parts for, which averages at about £5 (not sure how many $). However, if someone just wanted the actual siren without the pole it would be much cheaper. Don’t have an exact price as of now, but if anyone was interested I could quote. I don’t think that this will ever become a business, but I could sell a couple to individuals if they want them.
