Rutland Fire Dept siren

Tue Jul 11, 2023 10:57 am

Hi,

I stumbled across this thing on Google a while ago, and I'm not sure that it's model/manufacturer was ever 100% confirmed.
Anyone know what this is?

A British siren enthusiast. Previously lived at the furthest point from any sirens before co-discovering one very close to where he is located. Also features a great discomfort referring to themselves in third-person.

Could be a Type B. Not completely sure.

Definitely looks like a Model B... this one is an oddball. Could just be a housing modification, but it almost looks like it has shutters installed.

So, somebody recorded a video of it doing a short alert, and it certainly doesn't sound like a Type B. The siren sounds 12 port.

It looks to just be a third gen Type B, the overall shape and the sound match. Motor cover looks the same as a third gen unit as well, although the horns don't look like they're the same as most factory configs.
Just a wolf, siren enthusiast and railfan.
