[WIP] Sirens at Scout Camps

Mon Jul 17, 2023 11:38 pm

I got bored last night and decided to make a map of sirens at scout camps because, well, a lot of them have legacy sirens.
If you know of anything I don't have, please reply below and I'll get it added. Thanks!!

This is super cool and totally intriguing. Do you have any photos of any of the sirens?

Edit: By the way, the unconfirmed P-15 marker in NY has a suspicious P-15 shaped blob down and to the left: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lake+ ... ?entry=ttu
Sirens may not be sexy, but they sure work.

There's a General Detroit 344 at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch. It is next to the Modulator 3012.
Just a guy who lives in Lenawee County, MI ;)

Google earth shows it's a propane tank. Could be up in the trees somewhere, rather interesting because the March 2007 imagery is clear, trees are bare, and it's nowhere to be found.

There’s a Model 2 at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation - Camp Somers. It’s behind the camp office.

I was wondering if I should add photos to the ones that have them. I'll get that taken care of.

Do you have coordinated for either of these?

ASC T128 next to Camp Friedlander in Loveland Ohio. Owned by the Clermont County EMA.

Model 5A next to Camp Friedlander Nature Center- Loveland Ohio. Owned by the camp and sounded on Mondays at 1:00 PM during camp. Mounted on a platform. Can only be seen by satellite imagery.

Here's a picture that I took of the Model 5 around 2011. Not much has changed with the siren since then.
