I have excellent news for the Enthusiasts about the Gamewell Codewell (Cosgrave) siren in Jerome AZ unfortunately there are no recordings but there is some great news after a quick email with the police chief in Jerome AZ he said

"I am in the process of replacing a relay and radio interface. The siren is still functional and will be back on line shortly.

Allen L. Muma

Chief of Police, Jerome Police Department. "

so hopefully somebody can get a recording of it once it works

Good to hear. Seems like the relay was the only thing damaged by lightning.

Proof of these claims? I don’t believe that a user with one post knows this information. Please send a screenshot or something to confirm.

It might be hard to get the certain types of parts to get it back working. The thing is, if this is real, we also don't know if the motor was burnt or any other parts!

The relay is definitely trashed for sure. I went out there last year and took some pictures of the siren head. From my position, I could see the open control box and the burnt relay.

I'm not entirely sure on the siren motor's status, but it more than likely needs to be rebuilt considering it took a direct hit by lightning.

Most sirens that take a hit by lightning like that need to have thousands of dollars in repairs done.

This right here. This info is coming from somebody with zero credibility or evidence so far. Let's take this with a very heavy grain of salt until evidence is given. We already do know the relay and controls are screwed, but we don't know what else.

I highly doubt its actually being repaired, lightning strikes screw up sirens in multiple ways. Frying the controller, destroying the motor, etc.
Until proof is posted about these claims being true, then I don't think I'll believe it.

What makes this post even more suspicious is the O.P posted this shortly after the person who now owns a Cosgrave posted himself bringing his unit home. I'm starting to believe this is a fake post and was done only for attention. The last time the police department said anything about them possibly considering repairs on the siren was a few years ago, unless that was also fake. Besides, lightning strikes on sirens usually kill them, unless they're lightning protected with a resistor, rod, or something else.
