German E-57 in America?

Wed Feb 28, 2024 5:02 pm

I was going through streetview in google maps in California and found this:

Hopefully it shows. If not, here's a google maps link:

Go to 2012's streetview. My question is, "Is that an E-57 or just a vent????"

Edit: Sorry there's 2 pictures, Idk how that happened...

That is definitely an E-57 and has been confirmed numerous times as well as discussed. Probably a remnant of Hormann America’s huge presence in California before ASC was created.
Sirens may not be sexy, but they sure work.

Oh, I didn't know it's been discussed multiple times, sorry. Weren't there supposedly 2 at one point? I thought there were, but I might be wrong.

Thanks though!

Btw, I'm new to the siren board, so if I post something that already exists, please say so.

Yes there were! There was one in Crescent City, CA. It is scrapped AFAIK and it was replaced by a 2T22 then an STH-10 which still stands today

Also why was that E-57 so much lower than the T-128? Especially since the E-57 has a shroud that points the sound down?
