This has been a very intense night. At least two unconfirmed tornadoes in the Siloam Springs area alone, where I live. The entire Siloam Springs, Arkansas tornado siren system consists of 8x American Signal Corporation Tempest T-128's. One of which is located about four blocks away from my residence.

High resolution photos of the sirens and their unplugged brothers (Federal Signal Corporation Thunderbolt 1000/1000T's) can be found at my deviantart account:

Later on the sirens sounded again, while police officers drove down every street with their lights flashing urging citizens to take shelter. At that point I kind of freaked out, as Jonesboro, Arkansas's officers never did that. So I honestly thought something was going on when the police were patrolling like that. *laughs*

Update: Video 2 added. Learned that Siloam Springs uses the "Alert" signal for tornado warnings. They do not use the "Attack" signal except during scheduled testing.

Final Update: There were four confirmed tornadoes in Benton county. All were rated EF0 and no injuries were reported.

Thanks.

According to the city administrator, the Thunderbolts were sold over two years ago but their current owners have yet to retrieve them. They're in decent condition though, some even have new screens on them. :|

Unfortunately no, I actually informed Derek Thompson about the sirens and gave him the contact information. He mentioned the few details the city gave him, but they did not say whether they were 1000 or 1000T's or any other information.

If it helps, the emblems on their RCM panels have the "Federal Sign & Signal Corporation" logo. That may give a bit of a time line.

I'm not a professional in logos, but I presume that T-bolt was produced 1950's to 1960's? Not sure myself.

I'm sure the reason why you couldn't hear more was because the others were running so close to the same pitch as the one close to you.

Yeah, I guess they were. I was surprised by that since the Jonesboro, Arkansas sirens never sounded exactly the same. You'd hear the Allertor's, but some would be a slightly or very deeper pitch than another you might hear. Than they started mixing it up with Federal Signal 2001's and Sentry's so you'd hear up to 3 different sirens at any time. Siloam Springs, Arkansas's tornado siren set-up is made up of 8x American Signal Corporation Tempest T-128's and they seem to sound identical. At certain points, during the wind-ups or wind-downs you can hear up to two other T-128's along with the one behind the electric company, which is about four blocks away.

I had the same problem when I lived in Michigan. The city I lived in had 13 2001s and only 2001s. One of the 2001s was just under 300 yards from my house and it was the only one you could really hear unless it wound down facing away from me.

I wonder why they took so long to activate the sirens. Here the sirens sound (usually) before the warning is even put out over the radio.
Nice videos tho...makes me want spring to come even sooner...i miss being outside during a tornado watch and the sirens go off...the hair on the back of my neck will stand up.
