Hello dear technology and siren friends!

I'm René, the Guy behind the youtube channel "Die Sirenenwerkstatt" (The Siren Workshop), formerly called "Die Sirenengarage" (The Siren Garage). I am 34 years old and live in norhtrine westphalia, western germany.
I've had a very special siren in my workshop since June 2022 and now I'm finally getting around to restoring it. Join me on my journey to see the siren fully restored and back in action on the vineyard soon.

The siren is a so-called "Großalarmgerät (large alarm device) and has the model number L1137 (..37 for 1937).
It consists of two sirens, a high-pitched unit which produces a frequency of approx. 425hz and a low-pitched unit which produces approx. 145hz. It was manufactured between 1940 and 1942 by Elektror in Esslingen near Stuttgart.

Here is my video report on the dismantling and current status. English subtitles are available.

Have fun and until next time in the siren workshop.
So long 🙋🏻‍♂️🙂
