That thing is broken.

There's a reason it was replaced (though my reason probably isn't it)

The pitch it starts at and the pitch it ends at are are completely different. That thing keeps increasing in pitch as it goes through its 3 minutes.

whoa, there's a semi-tone pitch increase for this siren from the start to the end...
Greater Vancouver, 0 active sirens...

Yeah, if that was my 612 I'd check out the tone card.

A Tone Generator would be the correct term for most older electronic sirens and Whelens. This is the device which is programmed with set frequencies and digitally creates the siren tone during the cycle and is cut off when the timer goes off and thus shutting down the siren unit with a windown of the tone. They generally uses an oscillator to creat sweeps during the wail tones etc. on electronic sirens.
