Really good wind up. I like the way this one is sticking out of the trees.

To bad it didn't get the first part of the wind-up. Very cool and spooky sounding.

Yes, however a very small segment of the ending of the wind up. :)

Is there any advantage to oscillating rather than rotating?

Rotating sirens need a brush-ring assembly to have constant power available. The oscillating sirens can get by having a length of cable that will not essentially choke itself.
