What is the loudest electronic siren?

Just curious. Does anyone know what the loudest electronic siren is, and what it's DB rating is?

Currently the loudest electronic siren is the Whelen WPS-4004 and Vortex R-4. The loudest ever made would likely be the Whelen WPS-4008.
Some will argue that the loudest electronis siren ever made was the EOWS 812 with a 132db output at 100ft., but the catalog that that came from had a bunch of other screwed up output ratings like 128dB for a TBeam and 131dB for a TBolt.

What are the real DB ratings for those Whelens, and for the EOWS812?

Didn't Federal Signal actually release a Series C Thunderbolt that was capable of 131dB output at 100' in an attempt to compete against other sirens?
Also, what does a Whelen WPS 4008 look like?

Yes Ver Tum those are the real Db ratings on the wonderful 812.

The 4008 is basically a 4000 series siren with 8 horns instead of 4, and with a humongous " [ " on the back of it for stability.

No, there was a different reasoning behind the big fin on the back. I forget what, but it has been mentioned here.

The fin on the back was to reduce stress on the rotational mechanism on the siren.

No it was to protect the belt drive rotational system on early VortexR sirens. The VortexR-4 and WPS 4004 are both rated at 129dB.
