Sirens from the Super Tuesday tornado outbreak

In most of those videos from the second batch, people seem to not take any of what's going on seriously (with the exception of they guy with the foam from the mall). I really hate it when people act blase about severe weather when trying to look cool on youtube. Or when they are so extemely stupid that they can't appreciate the seriousness of the situation. I also hate it when people call the sirens alerting them to danger annoying.

It's getting pathetic that so many people think "grab a video camera" rather than "get in the basement" when a tornado warning is issued. Even if there were cool sirens in those videos.

I don't go outside and record the sirens myself unless I know the storm has already passed my area. I watch Wave TV here in Louisville, and they do an excelent job of tracking the storms. When the warning first came out, I got under the stairs with my roommate and my neighbor, and I had my radio with me. The radio was tuned to WHAS AM, and they were broadcasting the same audio signal that was on Wave TV. When they said the tornadic storm was to the east of my area, that's when I began recording the sirens. We had some good wind gusts while I was recording, but they weren't from the tornadic storm.

If that's the Thunderbolt on main street that's about 500ft away from Interstate 40, than I see it every time I head to Jonesboro, Arkansas. I generally see it just after mile marker 92 heading east. It may not be sounding, but I would assume it is functional as the horn does point in different directions sometimes. Either that or the wind blows it around.

I didn't mean you personally, but the idiots in some of those videos, who probably had no idea what was really going on. I do the same as you when severe weather heads my way...keep a CLOSE eye on TV weather, and look outside when it's safe. Thanks for all the cool sirens videos, though. You've done a lot of work to track down all these videos and from me personally, I appreciate it.

I love the sound heard around 1:00, when the siren gets loud and the wind like, blows the sound away really fast...it sent chills up my spine. I can't wait for tornado season!!!!
