I doubt their controllers are configured to produce a dual (or even lower) tone. You may want to send them an e-mail explain that wail would be a better choice for alerting for a tornado, due to the fact that the tone sweeps through a range of frequencies making the siren much more audible.

In Alert Mode, the Mod at the University of Louisville blends in too well with ambient noises in some of the buildings further away from it. If that Mod was set to Whale, or even Whoop, it could definitely be heard in classrooms throughout most of the Belnap campass. The tone of that Mod is a little lower than 880 HZ in Alert, which is only a little lower than the ATI's. Also, since the University has a six year old Mod, the startup is very soft, and that siren can't be heard in several of the buildings until about five seconds after the wind-up is complete. Some of the newer dual tone Mods dont have this problem.
