Gee, why would ANYONE want to live right next door to a T-Bolt???

Oh, wait a minute! I would!!! :D :D :D

That would be awesome! I mean, look how CLOSE that thing is to the side of their house! Wow! I wonder what the residents of that house think of it. You gotta admit, a middle-of-the-night Tornado Warning activation of that thing would scare the ---- out of anyone!

I couldn't live next to it. A middle of the night activation is all I could think of.

You know, this is not a bad idea at all. With today's computer technology, if someone had a lot of time on their hands, and was good at programming; hence, a siren location database merger with a Realtor.com, would be very cool. This would be ideal for families moving into a new location, and were curious to know how well protected their neighborhood is against natural or technological disasters. Also, it could list community shelters are located at. 8)

Whoa, dude..
I grew up 2 houses down from a big ol' 5, installed in '68, in the heart of a completely residential neighborhood. River Edge, NJ, just outside NYC, a town a mere 2 sq. miles was set up with about a half-dozen 5s, and they used them for every fire call well into the 90s and the modern pager era of today! While I'm sure it spurred my continued interest in sirens to this day, that thing was MEAN when it did its 4-cycle fire alarm in the dead of night...especially on a cool summer night, when all our windows were open? CREEPY, SCARY, unsettling! When I grew up, and my sister and would go home to visit, it gave her son, my nephew, FITS of fear and paranoia that are with him to this day...he wants NOTHING to do with sirens!
And, yes, I would have to assume that a house right next to a siren would have its property value lowered a bit. Makes sense!
