This siren was filmed in Livonia MI by Youtube user Siren1000T. As usual, his audio quality is superb!

I love the sound of this siren, it's how all o' them new-fangled e-lec-tronic sirens SHOULD sound. It's such a shame that Whelen no longer makes dual toned sirens. This would get your attention better than a single tone any day of the week!

Kinda sounds like a Dual Toned EOWS612.

Great video! That's the same exact siren that was posted here a couple weeks ago. The other guy didn't get the whole test like Dan did though.

Single tone Whelens don't sound as good, but they're no joke either. I recently found out that the ones that can be heard in my 2T22 recording from last month were an incredible nine miles away!

It's cool how it sounds like an EOWS612. I wonder how good the voice would be.

Ah, beautiful sound. Now I can finally show my girlfriend what her town's system would sound like...if they used them! :x

I'm sure she will be quite thrilled with that

I wouldn't turn it up too high, she might leave and turn off the breaker.

CTsirenhunter, I gather that your girlfriend dislikes sirens...

Actually...exact opposite. Her whole family kind of picked up my siren interest very quickly, which is a relief because my parents can't stand it.

Besides...as previously said, there's no way she can dislike sirens because she has no familiarity with them: her town's 3016 system has been dead for a while now!

Assuming that I correctly understand what you mean here...I have a laptop with horrible speakers. Very non-intimidating when it comes to playing siren recordings. Which I rarely do without headphones anyway.

Seriously though, I really do like the 3016. Not only does it sound great, it's also one of the most menacing-looking Whelens. This is good, because I don't find Whelens that attractive in general.

The only reason I assumed your girlfriend didn't like sirens was because of what the other posters were saying. Some women think that our siren interests are just plain weird.
