Thunderbeam Question

Wed Jul 19, 2006 3:07 am

I know that this siren has a deflector plate to send the soundwaves down about 45 degrees, but how is the horn itself arranged? Does anyone have any blueprints on this siren?

I'm not sure if I am answering this correctly, but the "projector", if you will, actually doubles as the top housing of the siren. Sound is sent out of the chopper and then directed down by the semi-conical shape of the top housing.

Yeah, the top flange adds to the amount of decibels projected down to the plate. Without the flange, the siren would lose a couple of decibels.
