The Siren Board

So while looking at the Whelen air horn videos I stumbled across this one...

Notice he calls it his 4004 and says the rotator was disabled. He lives in Montezuma, GA, about 2 hrs south of me. Is this guy one of us?

That individual browses this board as "mr_thunderbolt1003" and his integrity was called into question recently by a few members/moderators.

Otherwise, I have no opinion on the matter, though I eagerly await his photos to prove himself.

If you look at the comments on the video plus what he's said on that topic about his siren, it seems that he has a great variety of Whelens, some Thunderbolts, a 2001, and who knows what else. You know the old phrase "Truth is stranger than fiction"? I think that's what's going on here. Having observed the area in and around Montezuma on Google Maps or something similar in search of this guy's incredible siren farm, I have determined that there's more than enough room out there for a bunch of sirens. It would never work in my state, and if someone from CT claimed to own that many, I wouldn't believe them. But I think this guy is telling the truth and is just ridiculously busy because, well, farmers are busy people.

(Yes, I always tend to want to believe incredible stories/see the best in people/etc. I suppose it comes from not spending enough time in the harsher regions of the internet... )

Hi guys, sorry it's taken me so long to post here. I think CTsirenhunter pretty much summed it up when he said that I've been ridiculously busy, and he was 110% right. Anyway, I just want to make it clear that the Whelen 4004 in that video is in fact mine. Here is a pic I snapped while I was in the field doing a survey for a new irrigation system:

Good point. That one is mine, but you're right, there's not a good way to tell.

I seriously need to at LEAST get a pic sometime of me standing next to it. Only thing is, is that the time I had to take that pic is about the only time I have to take ANY pictures of it or any of the other ones. Is a matter of fact, I'm currently talking to you guys via my laptop while in my tractor. We're baling hay today.

I'm not taking sides either, at least until I've heard more of his recordings, or gotten more information.

You'll satisfy any doubt I have if you get a picture of you beside an open control box and a short manual test.

This is what confuses me. I took a close look at Ian's photo because the Whelen didn't look right. I found that the pixels of the Whelen are different from the pixels of the sky, meaning the photo could have been edited on Adobe Photoshop. Thank's to Justin, the parts where the pixels don't match are circled. I used to have a camera phone and there is no way a camera can perform that.

As you see, the pixels do not match, the atmoshperic characteristics and description around the siren differs from the surrounding sky.
