2 bells...
2 horns (?)...
and...
FOUR Qs!!!
The question is...does one really need that many sirens on one truck? One Q is usually enough from what I've seen...

More the merrier, I guess? Looks nice however...
Interested in what all of those would sound like going up and down in speed, bet you it would make quite the ominous sound generated.

I wonder if the truck can handle the amp draw of 4 Qs at one time!
I'm not sure, but if you look closely, are the 2 recessed Q's actually speakers for the EQ2?? They look a little different than the Qs on the bumper.

Wow, that's quite something. Is that a show/demonstration truck or did they just have a budget surplus that year?
I bet they could have put two more Qs in the middle.

Mount Horeb is an interesting Fire Department. It's a little town in the midst of a farming community in Dane County, Wisconsin (just outside of Madison). They are known for their all black trucks, which dates way back.
They also have an incredible collection of warning devices-- lights, sirens, you name it-- adorning the walls of the firehouse.
They like their sirens. From what I remember, (I visited there in 1997), the old rescue truck had 2 Q's on the front. One of their other vehicles had two B&M Super Chiefs bumper mounted.
The guys I met that day were really nice-- they showed us everything that they had.
I think it is more for "buff" reasons than anything else that they have so many sirens on their rigs. It is kind of cool, though overkill to the max!
Check out their website,

The more I look at the picture, the more I am convinced that the 2 Qs in the bumper are E-Q2s. From what I can see, there are no stator holes in the side, and it looks like something black is behind them ("speakers").
This would make sense, because FDMH often mimicks Chicago FD in their designs (like the Green Lights), and Chicago is a heavy user of EQ2s.
The 2 Qs on top of the bumper are definitely mechanical Qs.
What think ye?

Yes, those are definitely E-Q2Bs in the bumper. If you look closely inside them, there is a square speaker inside each of them, possibly a Dynamax/MS100(?).
